How to fix knocked knees without surgery?

Will i have major problems in the future if i have had lock knees my entire life?

  • I was wondering why my legs went in at the knees, and did a little research. I found out it was called "lock knees" and heard it can cause arthritis of the knees at an early age. I am 18 and 120 pounds. I have had them my whole life, but didn't notice them until someone mentioned them to me at practice a couple years ago. Now i am self conscious and wonder if i should get the surgery to fix them in order to prevent future problems. Please help!!

Honest answer? You probably will have joint issues with your knees sooner than some people. I recommend going to a physical therapist who can help you work on it now to help prevent any more damage. I'm hyperflexible so my knees bend back quite a bit and have all my life...like you I didn't notice until someone pointed it out...boy was I self-conscious! But I went to physical therapy and they taught me how to correct it :) Good luck and good for you for being proactive about your health!!
