How heavy is leg and torso cast?

my son may have operation to fix leg break which will result in leg, torso and half leg in cast. can anyone advice?

Answer:
It depends on the size of the rolls used in casting and if they're fiberglass or plaster. Either way, they're pretty heavy. Fiberglass is lighter. I'm in 2 long leg casts (toes to crotch) and I've been told each one of my casts is 9 lbs (they're fiberglass with 3 inch rolls, most common technique)
