    Hi Sorry william, but that is all wrong...totally. Pus is yellow. green and that means that it is already infected. Peroxide is not good, and waiting for your toenail to grow will take a long time. Cutting straight across causes more ingrown toenails. Go to a Podiatrist and within a few seconds the offending spike will be removed, they are usually quick and relatively painless because they have the right tools. If it is your first ingrown nail then you will not need any surgery. If you wait then the body will try to remove it, but it can't, and will make the matter worse and then you might need the side removed. So now while you are waiting for the appointment, salt water bathe for 2 mins max and dress with a sterile dressing. Keep it clean and keep it covered. All the above is much better than doing a bad DIY job. All the best.

The best thing to do would be to get a pair of tweezers and grab the corner of the nail thats ingrown, and fold it upwards so it isnt digging deeper into the skin (yes this will hurt like HELL but its the easiest way to fix it yourself before it gets too bad) then just wash it regularly with peroxide, but when you get it back, if you see puss or a yellowish goo comming out, dont worry thats just your body trying to protect itself against infection from the nail, just keep washing it out with hydrogen peroxide, wait until your nail grows longer then cut it straight across to prevent future ones!
