What are the symptoms of a spider bite?

Spider Bite Symptoms? Help!?

  • Earlier I was sitting on my rug and noticed a little spider, I hit it trying to kill and thought I did. About thirty minutes later after dinner I was picking up the kitchen and noticed right above my right ankle on the outside it kind of burned/stung/hurt. I felt it and it kind of felt like a lump under the skin, like a bump. It was a bit red, maybe from me touching it. But it hurts and it just stings. I am a HUGE hypochondriac so of course I'm freaking out that it's some deadly spider bite. My parents just blew me off and said I'm fine, but it is hurting and I'm getting super panicky. My leg is also kind of achy, but I could just be focusing too much on it. I'm really scared! Please help!

  • Answer:

You're fine. Most venomous spider bites have stronger symptoms such as nausea. As long as the area is not purple, then it was not a venomous spider.
