How to treat a spider bite ?

  • Please help!! My knee is swollen and red and itchy it has been swollen for hours I don't how to treat it.

    Do NOT pop it by yourself. I cannot emphasis this enough. If you pop it the wrong way, and the spider was venomous to even humans, the venom can be pushed through your body and the infection can spread, leading to huge complications, with amputation being the worst of them. Go to a doctor, spider bites aren't something to laugh at, they can be quite serious. The doctor will pop it for you, and take a culture of it to see if it is a threat to you or not, and then start you on an oral antibiotic to reduce the bite and infection to nothing in less then a week.

If it been over six hours, you might wanna go to the hospitial. Identify if the spider is venomous or not. There a lot of method I know, but I use my way. Isolate the bite (so infection won't flow through area of your body) with a band or anything tight. Get something sharp like a thumbtack, safety pin or knife ( I used my army knife issued from the marines) and drain the pus or liquid coming out. If your too scared, at least make an incision. Heat up a cup, very hot, at least up to 380 degrees and cup on to the infected area. It should drain the infected fluids. repeat this as long the fluid are gone.

Unless you know the spider that bit you wasn't very dangerous you should see a doctor. Otherwise just leave the swelling alone and it will heal :)

well if put ice on it to get the swelling down use some after bite u can get it at cvs and if your cvs has a minute clinic then go there so a docter can take a quick look
