What should I do after a spider bite?

What should I do about this spider bite?

  • I was bit-- on the butt (ugh)-- by a spider I thought was a brown recluse. I looked the recluse up on the net, but this little spider doesn't exactly look like a recluse. For one thing, despite having a color similar to the recluse, it's joints are very dark brown, which doesn't show up in the pictures on the net. The net talks about recluses having six eyes-- well this spider's head is so small I can't see the eyes! Also, sites described a violin like shape on the spider. I don't see that-- just freckles on the under abdominal area. Can anyone identify my little Florida spidey? As for symptoms, the bite stung for a little while, 15 to 30 minutes. I'd put aloe on it, so that may have cut down the stinging. The bite occured on the 21st at 2 am and, about an hour later, I had a burning sensation in the joint around the leg below the butt where it bit me, but that could have been a pulled muscle from me trying to do moves a contortionist would envy to see the bite. I fell asleep and felt good in the morning. There has been, since then, only the slightest sting in the area, like a splinter might cause, or a paper cut. Also, some slight tingling and extremely minor itchy sensation, though that area has often been far more itchy in the past due to prickly heat in the area. I've been a little shaky, but I think that's just nervousness due to the bite. I've been told the recluse kills off the skin in the area around the bite. I've taken pictures to see the area and see no signs of the bite at all. I have some slight marks, but nothing that is out of the ordinary for me. I've also been told some spiders lay eggs in a person when they bite them and that eggs may hatch out of me. I've read nothing of that on the net and wonder if that is exaggeration or something. Please help me identify the spider and tell me whether it warrants medical attention. Thanks.
