The redness of a sunburn?

Are there any ways to quickly fade the redness of a sunburn?

  • I got pretty burnt yesterday and I was wondering if there were any ways to fade the redness of a sunburn pretty quickly? Thanks

  • Answer:

Put some crushed ice in a washcloth or papertowel, depending on how cold you can stand it, and just hold it on a spot, then move it, keep doing that and repeat. I've had mine go away over night! The thing with sunburn is you have to stop the "cooking" of your skin, which means bring down the temperature of your skin. That's it! and use sunscreen the next time. The sun does cause damage to your skin and its not so pretty as you age....I'm at that age! The dumb things I used to do for a tan was ridiculous. Not saying you're dumb, I'm just saying it was not smart of me! I've now got these things growing all over me! Sebaria caratosis, ugly. And even if you don't choose my answer, this info might keep someone from making the same mistake I did.

No, you more than likely have second degree burns and it will have to heal at its own pace. There are products to relieve the burning and to protect the skin, but not to fade it. Next time really glob on the SPF. Hope you feel better.

No, you have to wait for it to happen naturally. Buy some suntan lotion for the future and use it. in the meantime the best thing to do is take advil or tylenol for pain
