Should i be worried about this spider bite?

• I was sitting on my couch with my boyfriend and i moved and i felt something bite my leg. This bite stung and i jumped but i thought nothing of it, well that was yesterday, i was changing tonight and i started scratching my leg well this bite is now about thee of a dime and i noticed that it has little purple dots all around it. should i go to a doctor? what kind of bite it is? I'm really kind of nervous... thanks!

  I've done a LOT of research on this as my husband gets bitten rather often while at work. If you haven't had a bad reaction by now, and by bad I mean an allergic reaction, or have the signs of venomous spider such as the Black widow or Brown Recluse, then you should be just fine unless it gets infected. At this point infection is what you would have to watch for. If it was a black widow you would have had nausea, severe pain in your muscles and the feeling of your spine breaking, etc. and the brown recluse leaves a very definite bite that looks like a bulls eye. Look up spider bites on Web MD to make sure it not the brown recluse, I doubt it by your description. They have actual pictures for you to look at. Signs to watch out for at this point are it getting larger, turning red, getting a head on it, turning warm or hot, etc., all signs of infection. While you're there read up on MRSA to make sure that you don't have that or end up getting it.
