Can a christian band be a non-profit?

Ok, do you guys think Switchfoot is a Christian band? (I'm kinda gonna answer my own question in decription)?

  • (I'm a huge Switchfoot fan BTW) I've heard some people say that they are a "christian rock band" but I say they are just a normal ROCK band w/ Christans in it. I mean all you have to do is listen to there musical style (mainly Hello Hurrican and Vice Versus). Its just rock. Plus they dont even want to be called a Christian band. I mean sure some of their music has Christian themes, but their genre is rock n roll dudes. I compare their situation to that of The Fray. They are a rock band with Christians in it, but they are a secular mainstream band too. Switchfoot isnt a popular though. (And I know they are featured in the Christan media but I think they do it for money, I could be wrong though. And after The Beautiful Letdown they stoped doing things in the Christan media for three years but later went back). I REALLY WOULD LIKE TO KNOW YOU GUYS' OPINIONS. THANKS! :-)

  • Answer:

I agree with you about The Fray, but Switchfoot is a Christian band. There are a lot of bands that people like to inaccurately call "Christian bands" simply because they have Christian members, but those bands don't actually show up at the Christian music awards, much less show EVERY YEAR. Switchfoot also shows up at Creation-Fest, Winter Jam and every other major Christian concert you can think of.
