Do you know anything about Michigan Connections Academy?

Skipping help please?

  • Hi. I go to Connections Academy and im in 7th grade. Connections Academy is an online school. I want to know how to make them understand im capable of skipping a grade and being okay without actually asking them. See the thing is is that my mom wont let me unless they reccomend it and i want to skip for a lot of reasons. One being the work is so easy that it bores me. Im not learning anything. I cant wait when i can start applying for colleges when i turn 18 but if this boring work that i already learned keeps on coming up im going to end up failing. So please just a way to get them to reccomend me skipping a grade to my mom. I cant ask just a way for them to know that its too easy without me saying it directly. Thank you!

    Connections lets you take advanced placement. Contact your teacher about that. Ask about Gifted and Talented courses or taking higher level of some classes. If you ask about it they webmail your learning coach (your mom I'm guessing) and "recommend you for certain subjects in advanced placement.

why exactly do you want to skip a grade for? enjoy you're self before you know it you will be in college. I would never want to skip a grade because i grew up with everyone. And i wouldn't want to feel left out with not being with the same friends sence i've been with sence pre-school that's what i think! ~kristy

If you are not feeling challenged maybe the problem is the school. It might not be a good program for you. So rather than skipping a grade look into other programs that are a better fit.
