How To Increase Intelligence?

How can I increase my Intelligence?

  • Hello there Yahoo! Answers, My name is "SandmaN", and I want increase my intelligence. My ultimate goal is to become more knowledgeable and to become an expert in a few fields of study, i.e. English, Foreign Languages, Mathematics, Social Sciences, History and most of the Scientific fields. Lately I have been feeling a tad bit of melancholy due to my lack of Social Skills and my lack of Intelligence. To be honest, I have been watching that show on TBS called "The Big Bang Theory", and I have been feeling Inspired, and a bit of envy towards the characters that are in the show. All that I want for me in life is eternal happiness and a superior intellect to the others among me, because as I had said earlier in this post, I have been feeling like I lack the social skills that others have, and I resent that, but am not willing to act towards building up an social skills whatsoever. Thanks in advance! - SandmaN

You're capitalising first letters unnecessarily, for starters. Apparently intelligence cannot be increased. My advice, backed up by many others, is to read. Research the benefits of reading. Read read read.

'Only those who truely admit they are stupid, are the smartest of all peoples.' - Me, lol. to say you are clever is arrogant. no one is perfect. only those who can reflect on their mistakes, that is if they know what they've done wrong, and improve on that, are the true geniuses. many people have called me clever in the past. some have been suprised at my apparent 'intellect', which i apparently don't give away at first glance. i personallt see myself as a failure. i have so many flaws, especially in regard to social interaction, something which i never really noticed when i was younger. like if a girl fancied me, i thought she was just beign nice. all my life, i have wanted to know how things work. like trying to figuire out politcs but failing when i was 7, something which i persued 4 years later, and now i'm 18 and i know so much, yet so little. at that same age i also folloewed with computers. i know alot about how they work and explain it, which is very much a contrast to some people doing things like clicking a setting and not knowing what it ruely does. i started programming at 14, something which i had some freinds that didn't even knew that that was possible. i know loads about irish history, enough for me to probably right a book, is 17,000 words on my gcse coursework enough, lol. i still feel inadequate and stupid. for you, somone who wants to obviously build on their knowlege, i recommend writing out a list of topic which trule interest you, like genres of books, film, hobbies, science whatever and find interesting bits of information in regard to them. build upon those little bits so you can form a basic knowlege, and from their read on, maybe an introduction and other things. maybe branch off into areas that interest you. you say you want to learn languages, which i personally see as hurdle to myself, maybe because i haven't put in enough effort. if you are looking for a language to learn, maybe try and relate it to you other intersts, say oif you like ninja's, you might study japanese to understand texts written on them. I like irish history, and as a result, i have learnt a reasonable amount to help me along, with the help of my parents, but even that though is harded that japanese, as less people can speak it, and the fact i would have to travel far away to get lessons. that sparked my interest inlinguistics, fo which i'm studing old and middle english aswell as runic alphabets. if you find out what you like, you may find out you know alot about it, i failed english language and lit. at gcse twice, which my teacher was amazed at as some of my lexicon is apparently scholarly level. he'd never hard a student ever use the terms 'portmanteau' and 'anachronism' in work before. even the word lexicon, most people are clueless to what it means. good luck. ND: IQ tests shows nothing. below 60 means you're mentally retarded, which is a bit silly as some really smart people can get that low and be fine.
