Virtual Homeschooling?

  • So i'm thinking about doing this virtual homeschooling thing. i was wondering how it is done like how much interaction you have w/ teachers online. like is classes done by a chat or something? for example would i be sitting on the computer for 6+ for classes? for info on this be nice thanks! :)

    Most virtual schools are public school at home programs, which is not the same thing as homeschooling. There are some online private schools that accept homeschoolers, but these are very expensive ($6000-$10,000 a year). Without knowing what specific school you are talking about, it is really impossible to give you any answers. ETA: Emily, your father did not get you free admission into Connections Academy's online private school that is used by a few homeschoolers. It costs $4000+ per year. If you are enrolled in CA for free, then you are not being homeschooled. Instead, you are enrolled in an online public charter school.

My daughter Yvonne is home schooled since 2008. First she did German public school and home school together. When she finished her 10 year public school, she started home school only. We have very good experience with Red Oak Academy in Texas . The classes are all on-line in a virtual class room and with great teachers. She loves her school and met a lot of friends there too. Often the students meet on FB and help each other with homework and projects. I recommend this school to every student , that likes to have a hight standard education. My daughter will graduate in June 2012 and her goal is to go to Texas A&M and study Veterinarian. http://www.roaschool.com/

I did virtual homeschooling for a couple of years, I think it really depends on what program you use, but for me, i did my lessons without a teacher online. then i had to do some physical paperwork and i would scan them, and the teacher would grade it. other then that and some once a month chat rooms, it was mainly online without the teacher. you could email the teacher for help though! ...I liked it because I could finish pretty fast. :)

I go to Connections Academy And my dad got me in for free. full time. :) hope this helps ETA: then thats probaly what he did then.... my bad. I mean really what the diffrence. I'm doing school at home. HOME-school.
