What are some good acting schools? What are the best ones out there?

  • I want to get an agent, I've graduated from my local acting school, passed a final audition for a big acting industry (cost of training was too high so I had to go local. I know I have the talent, love acting, and know this is what I want to do. I'm currently taking acting classes in college while pursuing my degree. It's almost frustrating to see bearly any ads in the paper of ANY auditions, and that happens every century or so I don't want to waste time, I went to a acting school, taking acting in classes in fact I am in the advanced course I don't know what else I can do

    Acting is a business that takes considerable investment. The first thing you have to do to be an actor is to have a source of income to invest in acting. College acting classes usually are not very good and are not used on a resume. You have to be an actor to proceed. You have to be in plays, as many as you can. There are hardly any open auditions nowadays because too many amateurs turn up and waste the casting directors' time. You're right to want an agent - but they are really selective - they usually only want actors who have graduated from drama school and who also have lots of experience. You're obviously doing the right thing regarding the training, so you'll need to get experience next - unpaid stage plays, student films and short films are the usual way. Good luck though - and the word you were looking for is 'barely' - 'bearly' is to do with bears! LOL!
