How are my monologues? Suggestions?

Auditioning for Into the Woods suggestions for monologues and songs?

  • I am auditioning for a production of Into the Woods, and I am aiming for the role of Cinderella. However, I can't think of anything to sing, I am not sure why but none are coming to mind. The part requires someone whom can sing Soprano - G to high G which I am able to sing, so any song that can show that is my range would be great :) I also would love any monologue suggestion, I am thinking a dialogue from a movie spoken by a princess or even just a dialogue of someone with the same character trait as Cinderella: so gentle but severe (that is how the role is described) Thanks

Hmmm I have done Into the Woods three times now.. First time I was the wolf/cinderella's prince, 2nd time I was the Baker, the 3rd time I directed it at my high school. Im 17 but I have been in theater my whole life... I couldn't recommend anything just on your voice type though. I would say if your a girl with a lot of guts go for "Steps of the Palace" if you nail it then that will really impress the director(s). If you just want to play it safe then just go with something in your range that you feel comfortable with... something you are familiar with and can nail. For monologues.. seeing how its a comedy go for a comedic monologue. I don't want to give you any thing specific because it might not be your age range.
