How do you get noticed in the music industry?

Hi my name is Darren. I am 15 years old. I really want to get in the music industry and i just dont know what to do. Can anyone help me? I have made a few videos of myself singing on youtube. That's a start. Get really good at your instrument whatever that may be, if its vocals perfect it. Write and record some original material. Get a page up on a social networking site and start promoting the heck out of yourself. Get involved with the musician community online. Visit music forums, and communicate with other musicians. This way you can start to build an online presence. This is just the tip of the iceberg but its a start.
