How do I get an audition?

How do you think this audition went? Would i get a callback? ANSWER:)?

• So i went to Actorfest NY today, for the Nickelodeon audition. and i went in and auditioned, and i messed up a few lines, but it was fine. They actually laughed during my performance, which was a good thing since it was a comedic scene. & Then when i finished they said I did really good, and i really settled into the character. Meaning i really understood the character and became the character. But after my audition, i didnt get a callback...some other people got a callback right after their audition, and well i thought i would too because of what they said. on the site it says "Limited number of people will receive a callback at their audition. If you dont get a callback it doesnt mean you're "out". We may call back other people after the auditions for current projects." So do you think I still have a chance to get a callback?? Do you think there was a limit to give out callbacks and they reached it? thats why they didnt give me a callback at the audition? Im so confused. ahah help?

  Auditions are like that - they can say the most flattering and encouraging things and still reject you. It happens to all actors. They'll have chosen the best ones for call-back, and that evidently didn't include you. Sorry! If you aren't chosen, you normally just never hear anything back from them at all - hardly anyone ever contacts you to tell you. As they said, they may keep your details on file just in case something crops up in the future, but to be honest, that happens very rarely. All actors have to get used to rejection on a daily basis - they say that for every 100 auditions you do, you'd be lucky to get one or two roles. There'll be other auditions. xx
