How can I be better at acting?

How can I get better at acting?? ?

• I don't plan to become an actress at all, but I do wish to be better at it. Im a junior in high school and so sometimes we do skits in classes and I tell myself "why can't I act just as good as them". I kind of drew a conclusion that the ones that talk a lot or are popular in my school are the ones who act best. Or the ones that that feel comfortable with their personality. I want to improve the way I act in small skits. I want to be able to get over my timidness or the thought that ppl may think I'm weird if I act like this character cause really it's just ACtiNG after all. Anyone have tips or advice on how to improve my acting or confidence to act??

  You have to really believe that you are the character, let go of any fear that the other students might think you're weird. Because it's not you acting like that, it's the character!
