Serious acting question - (acting as a career/professional)?

  • Hello all. I'm 13 years old, an aspiring actress, and residing in the LA/Hollywood area. Under my belt I have: improv, hip hop dancing, live comedy, a little musical theater, and I have studied acting for TV & film for a couple years. I can also write. At the moment I'm not signed with an agent. I'm currently still taking dancing classes and studying acting for TV & film, however I want to take my hobby and turn it into a career. I'm very passionate about acting and I want to take it to the next level. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

    I am not an actor how ever I am writing a book, my advice to you is logical. It really is a combination of who you know and what you have to offer the audience. You pretty much have to exceed in both so find out if possible if any of your friends have celebrity ties or find a way to befriend someone that already has an acting career to recommend you to producers. Also provide an actual character that other people want to see, don't copy pre existing actors traits look more at classic movie stars and how they carry themselves because in my opinion having class is the future of acting people are getting tired of the snotty rich and the tasteless. Hope this is thought provoking!

your acting teacher,if they have been around and are any good should know agents they can send you to when they think your ready for one. look for auditions for local theater and student and ind. films.their all over the LA area and are open calls a parent can get you on. you can get a copy of an acting trade magazine called VARIETY. it is all about show business. open calls are listed in it. also agents,mgrs,casting directors have ads in it.
