I'm really serious about acting. Tips on getting started?

I'm 14 years old and people tell me I have the looks and personality...I would like to start acting. Any tips on how to get started? I'm getting my headshots taken in a week but I want to know more details on getting started. Thanks!

Do an online search to see who's casting now. Local plays are easier to get into than big time broadways! Try out for one play at a time (Trust me, 3 shows at once is bad, and you need to be able to put all effort into ONE show at a time!) You'll probably get casted as an extra or something, but it's experience, and that's all you nee right now. If you have other experiences, you may be able to write up a resume. Be professional, because you can be the greatest actress EVER, but if you are immature, the next girl gets it. Take the criticism, don't talk back and be nice to everyone at auditions (and keep it up during rehearsals!) Good luck!

Attend some acting classes, they help you improve and the have links to agents to get you on tv or in plays. If you go to Books a Million and get the book acting for dummies it gives you step by step advice what to I am just starting acting to and im 14 to :) Good luck!
