Help writing a skit for an organization?

• I have to write a FUNNY skit for this organization that one of my family friends started. The idea behind the organization is to raise money for computer literacy programs in underprivledged schools in Bangladesh. The skit is supposed to portray how the computer literacy programs are making a difference. So for instance, last year, the skit had two groups of kids and two teachers. The first scene showed the silly things that kids were saying that should be common sense but were getting wrong like that gravity was the theory of regurgitating. The second scene showed younger kids who were actually using the computer literacy program and showed how much smarter they were and how much it had helped them. This year they have asked me to write the skit but I have no idea what to do! Please help? It has to be funny too thats what they asked. I will appreciate any input!

  As a writer & actor, my best advice is to focus on the TRUTH of your story. Typically, when an audience laughs, it's because they identify with something be truthful -- spot on. Think about the times you've heard someone splitting their side laughing and saying, "That's so true!" The couple of examples you provided: "...silly things that kids were saying" and "..literacy program and showed how much smarter they were" are both examples of the truth being told. The key in finding the humor most times is to put the truth in a different light by over exaggerating it, so the audience recognizes it as the truth, but also recognizes the ridiculousness of the scenario/implication.
