What are Some Colleges that have Good Musical Theater Programs?

  • I have been searching for colleges with great musical theater programs, preferably in New York, Chicago or California. I have looked into AMDA and heard mixed feelings...is that a good school for its musical theater programs? are there any others? Help!! :)

    Some of the best in the country: New York University Carnegie Mellon University Univeristy of Michigan University of California- Los Angeles Marymount Manhatten College Oklahoma City University Boston Conservatory Cincinnati Conservatory of Music Point Park University Elon University Ithaca College Northwestern University I've heard nothing good of AMDA. If I were you I would look at the above schools, which have good reputations.

Obviously, New York University. George Washington University is great as well. I am not really familiar with AMDA. However, I just skimmed through their site. All I can say is that your college "life" experience might be a little dull just because the people won't be so diverse. But that might not be so bad. Anyways, best of luck with finding college and your career!
