What other acting techniques are there besides "method?

Are any Actors In London interested in The Method?

• I'm curious to find out if anybody would be interested in starting some form of informal get together, to have a natter about The Method or similar Techniques/Components to the technique itself. I've only discovered two teachers in London who actually run classes or courses in The Method and have struggled to find anything further, in terms of a society or casual drop-in workshop classes. I figure this is because the technique itself is severely misunderstood in the UK and quite frankly it seems to get a rather ignorant response from many practitioners OR supposed acting teachers for a number of reasons. I will point out that although no credited drama school's exclusively teach The Method in the UK, many acting teachers do practice techniques used within it. If you are interested in any aspect of Stanislavski's The System, The Method or Eric Morris' BEING please get in touch and maybe this could lead on to a future society OR a regular hang-out regarding people's craft and techniques etc. This would be London based.   As most professional actors in the UK have already studied for 3 years at a drama school or university, they've already learned all they want to know about the Method, Stanislavski, and other theories. Most have already worked out that learning a wide variety of acting techniques is the best way to go, and not narrowing their options by slavishly following one single way. I can't imagine that you'd get much interest in yet another course or discussion group on this subject - most new actors are too busy trying to find work, and more experienced actors are out there acting! Endlessly talking about technique and method is all a bit pretentious and doesn't really accomplish anything.
