How can I get into acting?

• Ok so since I was a little girl i'd say about 6 I always dreamt of the whole "oh I want to be famous!" kind of dream but my mom and dad weren't really the type of people that got their children involved in activities so I was never able to get into that kind of thing. time passed by and I was about 12 at this time I was being bullied a lot and got into a really big depression. Once again I wanted to get into acting and singing now at this time I also started to notice that I actually had the talent to be an actress and sing I will always remember when I was singing and my brother banged on the door and told me to lower the radio but the radio wasn't on It was my voice that was on. Anyways since I was being bullied I wasn't really ready for hollywood since I was very weak or confident and wouldn't take criticism very well I saw it as it wasn't the right time. I have to say I have changed soo much 180 degree difference. Back then at 12 I was the shy, quiet, defensless, depressed girl now that I am about to be 18 and just got done with high school I can tell you with all honesty that I am very very different once I got out of my depression I became extremely confident, happy, hyper now I am sociable with everyone no matter how they act or look people can talk all they want but I know who I am and that's all that matters I also got invovled with clubs like cheer, link crew and leadership these clubs helped me be a great leader, be able to talk in front of thousands of people I actually would perform alot now in rallies I modeled alot I sang in front of the school (not like chorus singing like performance singing) I made commercials for my school and my teacher counted on me to be the leader and make things happen.   I retired recently having spent the vast majority of my working life in the Professional Theatre. There really is only one way in. That is TRAIN, TRAIN, TRAIN. You hear a lot of talk about 10% unemployment these days, and how bad that makes getting a job. If you're a professional actor think more in terms of 10% EMPLOYMENT, 9 out 10 actors will not be working. However, all that said, if you train hard, get good at your craft and have a bit of luck, you'll likely have a not too bad career. You do need another string to your bow though, so when you choose to take acting training, look at what the college offers as an alternative employment to run alongside it. Good luck.
