How do I get a Actor Talent Manager in Los Angeles?

  • Hello, a pretty simple question. I just moved out to Los Angeles and am trying to find a talent manager, how should i go about this? I have already set up my professional training and am taking classes at the beverly hills playouse. I just want to know some good managers i could call to help me find representation through an agency or just help me get my foot in the door somewhere. I already have my professional resume done and about 100 headshots, i just need a little help here on what i should do next, thank you

there are a couple acting trade magazines you can get in Hollywood. VARIETY and HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. managers,casting directors,agents, have ads in them. there are managers and casting directors that hold acting classes. they all know agents they can send you to when they think your ready. your acting instructor should know managers and agents if they have been doing this for awhile. a manager is an option, an agent is a must. there are things agents do for you managers don't. agents get 10%, managers get 15% and they get that whether they get you the audition you got the job from or not. you want to make sure it's worth a quarter of your income to keep both.
