How expensive is acting school?

How to study acting without going to a acting school?

  • Okay, I don't have any money to go to an acting school and my school doesn't offer drama club, so there is really no option for me to get some formal training. I heard like colleges and universities have acting classes, but I don't know if it's free. And in order for me to be a TV actress I have to have formal training and get an agent. So is there any good free online acting websites, if so please give me the links. Thanks

    The only way is to be in community theatre plays. However there are few roles for teens unless they do Bye Bye Birdie or some similar production. There are no free acting classes and most 'acting websites' will try to sell you something. The best thing you can do until you go to college where you can study acting is to read about it. Definitely get involved in the community, but as far as schooling goes, try to find a school that offers a major where theatre piggybacks another degree (I happen to be a Communication Arts major, but my concentration is Theatre). This way, you get your formal training, but you also have a practical degree to fall back on.

there is no free way to per sue acting. you can take acting classes. a specific or special school is not a requirement to be an actor or to get an agent. look around you for community theaters and student and ind. film auditions, their open calls. some theaters might hold acting classes.

Like he said, community theatre is the way to go. Just get yourself involved and you'll be an acting veteran in no time!
