What is a good ballad from a musical for a tenor?

Do you think "I Want To Hold Your Hand" is a good audition song for a light bari-tenor?

• I'm doing a big audition soon for a gay role where I would be singing this like a ballad about him. I've got the range of bass through tenor. I'll be singing this either in C major or G major, depending on whether I play the piano for myself as accompaniment or not. During this audition I'm going to be taping it, and I'll be on a stage starting out washed in blue light and then picking up tempo and bringing on the full lights. * 20 hours ago * - 3 days left to answer. Additional Details **edit** Okay, forget the "dramatic lights". I'm planning to audition for the role of Kurt's boyfriend for Glee. But don't clump me into the teen pop-singing generation of amateur ne'er do wells. I'm a competitive classical singer who's next gig is being pit against another league of schools with "Vaga Luna, che inargenti". Bel Canto all the way. I was thinking about doing "I Want To Hold Your Hand" because even if it sacrifices a little range, it can be sung well lightly and I'm trying to show that in a duet with Chris Colfer (Kurt) that we blend and I don't overpower him. Since he's a soprano, if I go in too heavy, it won't blend well. I'm open to suggestions for other songs though.

  My opinion is that the sacrifice in range isn't made up for.... by anything! Find something with some more range and show off your skill and flexibility as well as the emotional aspect; I'm not saying Don Giovanni but let them see your talent. Strong auditions always make the best impression.
