Is Barbizon Modeling/Acting school a scam?
-
I go to barbizon modeling/acting school and i was wondering if it's a scam
-
Answer:
It's a school and it's pretty expensive The reason people call it a scam is because they either falsely believe or maybe were led to believe by a salesperson that it was an agency, or that by taking classes you would get into an agency or start being booked on modeling jobs or that you'd get auditions for Disney and Nick As long as you know that it's just a school, your parents have no problem with the money you are paying, and you don't expect anything more when you graduate then it's not a scam. Dateline did a whole episode about Barbizon - read the transcript and watch the video clips http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30156875/

Not sure what you mean....If you already go there, then you can see what it is or isn't, and you can judge for yourself. If you mean, will attending the school practically guarantee me an acting or modeling job, hopefully you realized before enrolling that it makes no such claims. For generations, girls have been going to Barbizon with the hopes of making it in modeling or acting. Most don't make it, but what most DO get out of it is tips on make-up, carriage, and just generally coming across a little better than before, which many people feel is worth their money. Enjoy the class for what it offers. Ask if they also have assistance with job placement. And you can also check out independent modeling/acting/talent agencies.

That's weird they are cussing. I haven't ever heard that or experienced it. I went to Barbizon and had a great time. Why would you think it's a scam? If you paid money and they delivered the classes you paid for it's not a scam. If you paid they money and they didn't provide the classes then it would be. If you are referring to whether or not you get a job from Barbizon you are #1 defining your success in the wrong way and #2 Barbizon does not guarantee job placement. It's the same as if you went to hair school, they don't give you a job just for graduating...you have to go out and get it. I had a wonderful experience with Barbizon and think most of the chatter on the web about it is BS.

NO! I actually attend there as a student and it is NOT a scam! It is a school and i admit, it is pretty expensive but I think it is worth the money, but that's my opinion. And it's not inappropriate, it kind of depends what school your going to. I take classes there every 2 weeks.
