Can I put extra work on a blank acting resume?

Should I put my volunteer work on my acting resume?

  • should I put were I volunteer on my acting resume?? Thanks!!

  • Answer:

Only if it's relevant to acting or performing in some way - like volunteering at a stage school, teaching dance/singing/acting. etc, or helping with lighting/props/make-up at a theatre. You could add it - very briefly - under 'Other interests' but they really wouldn't be interested, and agents and casting directors hate over-long resumes with irrelevant stuff on it. What they really want to see is years of professional training, and loads of experience in a wide variety of plays and films.

no only acting training and acting parts go on your acting resume. casting directors are only interested in your acting ability. not what you do with your free time. your not going to get a job based on where you volunteer your time.

Yeah, volunteer work is great and that's awesome that you do that but don't put that on an acting resume. It doesn't belong there.

Lance Carter

Of course. Everyone likes to know where you volunteer. A director would love to know that it's VOLUNTEER, so it's your choice whether to go to work.
