Son and Daughter's Name Change?

• I am a resident of GA state since February 2010. I am an Indian transferred on L1 A VISA and working as a Senior Director for a Indian Company. My family joined me on the month of June 2010 and they have been here for more than six months. I am stating this to confirm that I have been a resident of this state more than a Six month which is basic qualifier for Name change. I have a son and a daughter of 9 and 5 year old respectively. Their name has been interchanged while printing passports in India and need to change them to a simple Last name and Frist name format. My First Name : Kiran My Last Name : Sanyal Son’s name : First Name : Tondi Ganesh Kiran ( My village name, my father’s name and My name) Last Name : Anoop ( My son’s name) I want this to be changed to : First Name : Anoop ( My son’s name) Last Name : Sanyal ( My last name) Similar situation for my daughter as well First Name : Tondi Ganesh Kiran ( My village name, my father’s name and My name) Last Name : Anusha ( My daughter’s name) I want this to be changed to : First Name : Anusha( My daughter’s name) Last Name : Sanyal( My last name) Is this something possible here at US GA? If yes how to go about it?

  I don't live there, but in the UK you would need to see a lawyer to arrange a legal name change. It is a quick, easy procedure and doesn't cost much.
