How to get him to talk?

How do I get my dad to talk to my mom?

• ok so it all started when my dad was at a friends house and it was like 2:00 in the morning so my mom called my dad and asked when he was coming home, what is he doing, and who's there. So my dads friend(well call him mark) mark and my mom are pretty good friends and my dad passes the phone to mark they talk and stuff and when mark is done he passes the phone to my dad and my dad just says "I have to go" and hangs up on my mom. Later that night my dad said to my mom "your controlling my life and your making me lose my friends" cause he's lost like 3 friends cause of my mom. And recently in the past 3 months the doctor told my dad he might have cancer. And when my mom heard the news it so happened she had the door shut and didn't talk to my dad when my dad came home. My dad took it as in that when he may have cancer that's when my mom doesn't wanna talk to him. But she shut the door when my dad came home BECAUSE my mom was still depressed about when my dad told my mom that she was controlling his life. So they haven't talked in like 4 months but are living in the same house. I've tried everything to get my dad to talk to her I even helped my mom right an apology letter to him but he won't read it at all and says he'll never talk to my mom again and that hurt him how she shut the door and didn't talk to him. And my dad won't listen to me and my mom is crying and depressed and scared to talk to my dad. How can I get my dad to listen and read the letter and talk to her?

  your mom does seem like a very controlling person, I don't think there is anything you can do, just give it time. My parents used to find themselves in such situation occasionally(for different reasons than this) anyway somehow it all eventually works out
