How do I convince my parents to get digital TV?

How to convince my parents into getting fios or some other tv thing? *5 stars!!*?

  • its embarrassing, but for years my parents have never gotten anything but those basic 25 channels and nothing else. i grew up watching nothing but pbs kids :/ now, we're FINALLY getting a better, bigger tv, and we already have a wii and ps3. so after years of begging and pleading for actual "normal" tv, my brother and i decided to use the new tv as an excuse to get "normal" tv. i mean really, whats the point in getting a 42" flat screen tv on a wall mount only to play wii and ps3 and watch 25 channels of basic tv? we tried reasoning that we feel left out when ppl at our schools talk about what they watch on tv and we have to say "oh, i dont have that channel." it's embarrassing. but their only reason they dont want to get it is because of the commercials. they think we will get sucked into them and will be "brainwashed" or something. is there any other reasons i can use to convince them to get it? please help!!!

    a wider selection of educational shows :) tell them about the more channels they have like discovery and history channel
