What is a good longboard for beginners? Sector 9?

I want to start longboarding but im have no clue as to what longboard to get! Im a beginner and I dont even know the parts of a board. I just want to use it for riding around, not really for tricks. I like the sector 9 Bamboo series, but there are so many to choose from! Out of the bamboo series, which board is best for a beginner? I am 5'8'' and 120lbs, size 9 womans shoes. Also, is skateboarding better than longboarding? 10 points

Sector 9's are widely available, but there are many more boards out there that are cheaper and are better quality. I recommend looking at Earthwing, Bustin, Landyachtz, or Arbor.
