WHY IS MY AIRSOFT GUN NOT FIRING?

Airsoft gun not firing, possible motor/gearbox issue?

  • I have a G&G M16 A4 MAX. Not a cheap clearsoft gun. Anyway, for the winter season I decided to completely strip the gun and give it a good cleaning/lubrication. I have a game this Saturday, and thought it wise to reassemble the gun. All went well, I have no extra parts, and it looks like it should, aside from one issue. It won't fire. My fuse is fine, my batteries are charged and there are no blockages or jams that I can see. When the trigger is pulled (and while using the motor alignment screw on the bottom of the pistol grip) the motor will either create sort of a 'thump' noise which almost seems like it's trying to turn but can't, or will grind and whirr incessantly. The grinding and whirring leads me to believe that the motor itself is not the problem, nor is the wiring/power. I have never disassembled the gearbox, nor do I intend to if it's avoidable. I have observed what little I can see in the gearbox with a flashlight, and comparing it to my other guns, all seems to be in order. If anyone can provide assistance or insight into the issue, I would be very happy. TL;DR Motor works, not misaligned as far as I can tell. What do?

  • Answer:

maybe a blew a fuse? but I guess the motor is working so probably not that. maybe check with another battery? I would defiantly check the gear box as you may have broken a gear. I don't know if you can get to it(your gear box) but especially if you have a plastic gear box it could easily broken, but rarely with a metal one although it could happen.
