What is a good bb gun for me?

• I want a bb gun that also shoots pellets, and doesn't use co2 or batteries or anything. my first thought would be the red Ryder but I want something that can kill small rodents. Then I chose the remington airmaster 77. The only downside to this is that you must pump 10 times, and I only can pump like 7 , plus it takes forever to load. I want a gun good enough to kill small rodents, and isn't hard to load or cock (at least over 500fps). Any help WILL be rewarded with 10 points!

  The problem is that most of the dual BB/pellet guns aren't all that powerful. The majority of these are pump type and you need anywhere from 8-10 pumps to get maximum velocity from them. Even the best of them have just enough power for squirrels at close range. A Red Ryder doesn't have enough power or accuracy to kill much but they are great plinkers for indoors. Next on the list are the break barrel airguns. These shoot only pellets and the low power ones can be purchased for $75-150 at some Walmarts and they may even come with a scope. In general the 1000-1200fps airguns will be enough for pests up to squirrels at about 25yds with standard hunting pellets. If you have more of a problem with squirrels, I suggest the 1200fps models with domed or pointed pellets and use wadcutters on smaller pests. So far these are all .177 caliber airguns. To further confuse the matter are airguns in .22 caliber. From what you are describing, I suggest staying away from .22 caliber airguns. You don't need the added expense of the .22 pellets if you are going to be plinking and you don't really need the larger pellet for squirrels. So, you have to make a choice.
