I'm 18, 5'11''204lbs. I want to know if this is a good gun? http://www.paintball-online.com/shop/Product/Tippmann-US-Army-Paintball-Guns/Alpha-Black-Tactical-Edition-Scenario-Kit-48-ci-HPA-GNTABSCK48.aspx It has basically everything to start out with. I played paintball once. I'm going again tomorrow. My first time, i wore a tshirt, hoodie, and sweatpants. I got *****ed up. I got shot in the hands and they got bruised and busted. What should I wear?

The marker is a Tippmann 98 with some cosmetic parts. If you don't care about the look, that can save you a bit. The HPA tank is a bit small. It will get you started though. You'll probably want a larger tank before long. I would suggest a 68/4500 tank minimum and get you about 800 shots per fill. The 68/4500 is equivalent to a 20oz CO2 tank. Something to check is availability of air or CO2 where you play. The kit looks like you get a vest. This will save you some skin damage. I suggest long sleeves and generally loose fitting clothing so you are free to move and it helps a bit with bounces. for woodsball most were some form of BDU camo. Any of several paintball gloves will help with the hands. Look at the ones with soft armor on the backs of the fingers and hand areas. You can go with fingerless gloves but that will leave your fingers partially exposed. You might not like the feel of fingered gloves anyway. Also, if you are not playing at a commercial field, you want to get a chronograph and check the speed of all markers. By the sounds of things, at least some of the hits you describe were either very close or came from hot markers. Nothing over 300fps and some field limits are even lower. Shadow Wolf

great gun. my friend has one with a cyclone feed on it.i have that same remote too. works like a charm. i use co2 though. so i don't know to much about air. but a 24oz co2 tank lasted me 3 hours and i still have half a tank left. (although i only shot 3 pods worth). its a great gun though. i recommend a cyclone feed though. Btw i have a project salvo and they can't use cheap paint but its still a good gun check it out.

It's a Tippmann 98 with a body kit. If you want it for its "Tacticool" body-kit and looks, then by all means. If you just want a nice gun to go out and play, just go with the regular 98 custom, or you can take a look at the Azodin Kaos (a better marker in my opinion). As for the clothes, I would suggest getting some baggy cargo pants (this will help the ball bounce off instead of break, meaning you're still in the game) and some cheap volleyball knee-pads underneath. Falling on banging your knee on a branch or rock without pads sucks. As for your fingers, get yourself some gloves. They make paintball specific gloves, but if you're on a budget, mechanic's gloves work fairly well too.
