Are there any outdoor shooting ranges in San Diego, California?

Im looking for an outdoor shooting range in or near San Diego. Also can you recommend a good rifle for a beginner. I dont really want .22 lr, i want something with some kick. Thank you!

Yes, look up Escondito Fish and Game Association. They've got a range somewhere down Lake Wholford road that I always shoot at, but you need to be a member to shoot there.

there is a range to the west of sdsu. its about 15 mins from my sisters out there. u can see it from the freeway going north.
