What are the requirements for a degree in fine arts?

Can I transfer with an A.A. degree to obtain an B.S. degree in a transfer school?

  • Okay, I'm really new to this AA BA BS and transfer requirement college thing. I just started college this year and I am doing very good and want to get on the right track. I plan on becoming a math teacher for a elementary or secondary school. Well I am majoring in Mathematics, which is a AA program, at Bakersfield College. Then I plan to transfer to CSUB, to study in Teaching mathematics, which offers a BS degree. So this may be a dumb question, but can I go from an Associates of Arts degree(AA) to a Bachelors of Science(BS). I understand that one is a Arts degree and another is a Science degree. I do plan on fulfilling the requirements to transfer. Will I still be allowed to get my BS even though I am planning to get my AA?

  • Answer:

Yes. Provided, the school you get the AA from is accredited. All credits may not transfer. Most schools granting a BS or BA may require at least 30 credit hours on campus. AA vs AS, BA vs BS matters not...there are just a few courses that are different.
