Can you study abroad while in medical school?

How can I study abroad while I'm still in high school?

• I want to study abroad either in my junior or senior year of high school. It doesn't matter if it's during the school year or the summer, although I would prefer it to be during the year. I really really want to study somewhere in the U.K., preferably Glasgow or London. I've heard that studying abroad fees are not as expensive as they seem & are only around $1000-$4000 & my family is financially secure enough to pay, but I would rather earn a scholarship since I am a pretty good student. The information I've gotten off specific sites for studying abroad aren't really sufficient & my school's guidance counselor is useless, so this is kind of my last resort. Thank you in advance!

  Going abroad to UK/England for just one year is not easy because of there school system. In England you enter a 2 year long program called A-Level before you graduate and can start at universities. I had the same problem as you when it came to my own school advisor, she had never sent anyone to UK so I ended up with doing all the research, emailing the school, apply and convince the school that I could study at their school (needed the right of residence). If you want to do it on your own and are able to do it for two years a boarding school is a good idea. In UK it's 32 state funded/state maintained schools which only charges for your living cost and not tuition. I don't know which year you are thinking about applying but the deadline for 2012 fall was for most of the schools in October-Descember 2011 but they might accept you if they have a opened place.
