What are international universities in Japan?

Good Universities in Japan?

  • I'm in 9th grade and when my time at my high school is over I'd like to study abroad in Japan. It's been my dream ever since I was a little girl. I want to know some good universities in Japan. But not Harvard equivalent like Tokyo U or Sophia U. Something impressive but realistic. I have straight A's and my school is an IB school so that makes it a LOT easier for anybody to apply to schools in a foreign country. Also the academics are really rigurous, foreign languages incuded. By year 3 most of the students are fluent!

Hi Becky, Nice to see you are planning well in advance - that can only help! There are a number of elite universities internationalizing at the moment through a scheme called Global 30. I teach at one of the G30 universities. You can do your degree requirements in English (High school Japanese would not be nearly enough for Japanese university courses in Japanese), while also learning Japanese. If your Japanese gets good enough, at my university at least, you can do any course offered by the university. The G30 courses generally have great deals on fees, and scholarships available. I've linked t some good websites to start looking at. You can also give me an email if you have questions.
