What are room and board costs in a university campus?

  • English is not my native tongue. I understand room costs which cover the rent. What do board costs cover generally? Only energy expenses or is there anything else? Thanks

    that question is to general you have to specify a city or at least a country.... not many places offer room and board here anymore but i would say if they did it would be around $600-700 a month in Calgary. I can't imagine it being lower then that but Calgary is very expensive compared to say for example Toronto which might be 4-500. Rent for a room in Calgary will not be lower then $300 and averages about 4-500. By definition room and board includes rent, utlities and some food costs. more often at least here room rentals only include the rent unless specified otherwise. I would ask a lot of questions before hand to who ever you plan to rent from to get specifics.

Where, what country? In the US, each school has a different cost. It varies greatly. The cost covers your room- which would be all utilities- your heat, A/C, electric, water You room would have a bed, light, desk, chair, dresser and closet-you would have a bathroom-sharded with others. Board-would be your dining plan. there are different plans-some for two meals a day, some for 3 meals a day-some cover the weekend, some don't. It would be up to you.
