ATTN: does anyone know anything about Medical School in Spain? **details please?

• hi guys. i've been searching the web. for info. on med. schools in Spain, and i cant find much. Would anyone care to tell me some info. and possibly some informing websites. Im currently in high-school but i really plan on studying in the medical field abroad. **Desirably in Spain. Oh and by the way, the Spanish language isn't a problem for me, but i would feel a lot more comfortable studying in English .

  If you Google the International Medical Education Directory you can find any medical school in the world. Spain has 28 medical schools and all are taught in Spanish. You need to be aware that it is unlikely that a foreign medical school will accept a US citizen. Each country prefers to educate applicants who intend to remain in that country to practice. With US citizens, the assumption is that you will return to the US. Unless your parents are wealthy, you won't find any ready source for financing your education. You should also be aware that if you are educated outside of the US you will not be able to practice in the US until you pass the USMLE. About the only country whose students do not have difficulty with the USMLE is the UK. But Step 1 of the USMLE is all Basic Science and foreign trained physicians haven't studied these sciences as intensely or as recently, so most cannot pass the first exam. It's not unusual to hear about physicians going to overseas programs, but these are almost always post-residency training programs, not basic medical school.
