Study abroad program for first semester senior year?

• Has anyone done a study abroad program first semester senior year. If i were to do this, how would it affect my college process??

  There are lots of other students who choose to study abroad during the same semester that you are considering. I talk to students on campuses across the US every day. However, there are some key people that you need to talk to on your campus who might be able to help you get a better picture of what studying abroad during the first semester of your senior year means for you. Be sure to talk to your 1) Academic Advisor - They can help you assess what classes you can take abroad and if your classes will transfer back for credit 2) If you have one, someone from the study abroad office on your campus - They will help you identify a program and get you through the process for approval 3) A Career Advisor or mentor - This person can help you gauge the field in which you will seek a position after graduation and you can discuss the benefits of study abroad. If you are considering studying abroad this Fall 2009, you should watch the deadlines as they are approaching fast for many programs (May 1 or June1).
