How much do you think would it cost me to study in Australia?

  • I'm planning to study at University of Melbourne as an International student. How much would be the cost of living, food and other fees for a whole school year? The program that I will be taking is Doctor of Physiotherapy. I'm currently a student of undergrad Physiotherapy in Philippines.

    I'm sure that being a foreign student, the government will give you some small money But i have to warn you I go to school in Tasmania and the school Fees are very high My collage fee was over $600 and University is likely to be much more expensive than that on top of food and board prices, it'll be very hard to get by i should think It would be lovely to have you over here dear but to be honest If I were you i would stay and get my Doctor Degree back in the Philippines and then come down to Australia and be able to live without the expense of University Fees Also I would go to the Melbourne university website to sort out fees Call them up and talk to someone about your problem

For the cost of living, you could try doing a search for rental homes in the areas closest to the school. Sometimes you can even find websites where other students are looking for roommates to help keep the cost of living down. In cases like that, not only is the rent shared but so are the bills. As for the cost of food, you could see how much the meal plans are at the university and also what kind of shops are near where you would live. Farmers markets are some of the best places to get awesome, fresh local produce for very cheap. Other fees could include various amounts of things from transportation to health insurance to hygiene supplies and so on. Those kinds of things you should also do some research on. If U of M is anything like my university here in the States, the Philippine community is extremely tight knit. If you can make contact with that community before attending, you could very well find help for many of your concerns through them. :)
