What does a 4 year degree in the US equal in the UK?

The US bachelor's degree from a 4 year college is equal to what degree in Australia and or in UK?

  • I have been trying to find out if the institutions that offer dental programs are for students having graduated with undergraduate degree, bachelor's in US, or for dentists,DMD, looking to specialize. So far all I have come to understand is that I have no way to know until I know what sorts of degrees they are talking about, as far as applying goes, I can't really do much save for sending emails to them to try and find out...great first impression? I think not...please help.

  • Answer:

Depends on the major. I believe in theUK, they have Bachelor's of Law, and Bachelor's of Medicine degrees still. These Bachelor's are "professional" bachelor's and are more the equivilent of a BSEd (Education) or BSE (Engineering) professional degree in the US than a BA. But the US uses the Bachelor's, Master's, Doctorate system as well.

Roughly the same. Though US & UK degree's are more accepted worldwide.
