Where should I study abroad?

• I am currently a freshman at Brown U and I have recently been looking into study abroad programs. I am considering England, Africa (South Africa, Ghana, or Zimbabwe), and South America (Ecuador or Argentina). I am considering Oxford or Cambridge in England....however, my university only offers year long programs there and a part of me really wants to go somewhere that is really culturally different. I also don't like how you can only take courses at Oxbridge within your major. But both are just really traditional and I feel either would be a really unique experience. On the other hand, I would love to go to South America to work on my spanish and just experience a really new and vibrant culture. I have not been here before -- I have been backpacking around England already. Same with Africa -- it would be great to experience such a different culture from the typical western way of life. And, as there are semester programs for both of these, it would be possible to do two study abroad programs, one in the spring and one in the fall. Any thoughts/insight? Where would/did you study abroad and why? I want to go to so many places....its so difficult deciding!

  Based on my xperience in South America, I would totally go to Argentina. It is a Latinamerican country with European roots that show everywhere you go. It is also safe and most people are amazing. I made good friends there and had an incredible time. Go to groupamericana.com and check their programs in Rosario. Rosario is a city close to Buenos Aires but way better in many senses. I did my internship there.
