How hard to study medicine in the US?

Study Medicine in US and Canada?

  • Hi everyone, I'm an international student. I'd like to find out more information about med in US and Canada. As far as I know, getting into a graduate med school in the US is extremely hard for an international student. So does getting financial aids. My question is: 1. would there be a way of finishing bachelor degree in the US, applying for PR, and then studying graduate medicine? So I can get financial aids. 2. What are the requirements for getting a PR of US? 3. Is it easier to do the same pathway in Canada? Thanks a lot for reading this. Thanks for your help. I'd really appreciate it.

I haven't heard of "PR". In the US a student must have a four year bachelors degree, take the MCAT exam then apply to Medical schools. Even if you came here for your Bachelor degree, you would still. be an international student when you apply to Medical schools.

What's a PR? The Canadian Med schools are just as hard if not harder to get into than the U.S. There is also one additional year of study required in Canada. So, for General Practice you require 12 years of study in Canada vs. 11 in the U.S.
