Answer:
You will need very high grades in order to be accepted as an international student. In additional to checking out various Universities and their admission requirements (can find this on their websites), you will also need to apply for a Student Visa in which ever country you end up studying in. In your University application, tell them that you play basketball and include your height. Also, find out the name of the basketball coach and contact him/her via email to find out if they have open tryouts during the first weeks of school or just prior to the beginning of school.

To study abroad, you must graduate from high school (for those on UK system, A levels) or the equivalent. Your grades must be outstanding since you will be in competition with the top people from all over the world. In addition, admissions requirements include outstanding character, leadership, community service, exceptional abilities or talents, outstanding achievements, high test scores in the language of instruction, and international admissions tests, e.g. the SAT exam. Sports scouts are on the lookout for truly exceptional players of soccer (Euro football), US football, basketball, etc. If you were that outstanding, the scouts probably would have found you by now. Internationally, you are not going to school on basketball scholarship. Student visas require proof of sufficient funds for all school expenses (of which tuition is only part), plus all of your living expenses, including health insurance and medical care, plus return transportation to your country of citizenship. Student visas are temporary NON-immigration visas, and a condition of issuance is that you intend to return to your country of citizenship immediately upon completion or termination of studies. You and your parents need a great deal of money. If you can meet all admission requirements, then you can submit an application and pay application fees to the schools, see if they will accept you.

If you are very good, you should work with your teachers and coaches to identify top schools. Every school's athletics site will likely have a form or page dedicated to "Recruits." You fill in the interest form, and someone will contact you. You must also have very good grades for any school to take a risk on you. http://www.sienasaints.com/ You can see that this heading titled "Recruits." In order to receive a scholarship to play, you must look at Division 1 schools within the NCAA. www.ncaa.org.
