What are the average utility bills for a hair salon?

Question for black women, do you let white girls do your kid's hair?

  • Yesterday after paying all of my bills, and expenses, I had a little money left over. Well, I had nothing in mind that I needed, so I figured I'd treat my precious little angel to a little hair primping. So we went to my favorite salon on the other end of town. This salon really knew how to pamper a sisters hair. They only had the best african hairdressers around. Well, I was dissapointed to realize that the salon had been CLOSED DOWN, and I had to go to the white girl hair salon down the street. Ugh, but it can't be that bad, right? WRONG. I asked for a simple wash, and a little something to make my baby's curls pop. But after she was done.. I was HORRIFIED. They washed my little baby's hair with some weird white people's shampoo and had it as kanky as ever. They had one side of the hair in a puff-ball and one side was half burnt and sizzling apparently the lady was going to STRAIGHTEN my daughters beautiful curls). I tried to ask for a refund but they started saying obscene things like "ungrateful black woman" and "omggg we worked so hard though". Then one of them threw a bobby-pin at me. So I sighed and took my daughter home and decided to just comb it out my self and give her some braids. Has anyone else ever had this experience?

    HAHA I know this story isn't true though. EVERY black person I repeat EVERY black person KNOWS not to let white people do ANYTHING to our hair.

Gurrl, y'all needs to go to the LaShandra's Beauty & Nails; they be treatin' African hair the way it's meant to be! Off of highway 451, downtown LA, gurrl.

I did my kids hair and honestly do prefer a black salon, but it just takes education to do our curly(nappy is a racist word) hair.

umm , the only time i would let a white person touch a little black girls hair if they are only shampooing, conditioning, cutting ends, and curling.

I think that white women usually let black women do their biracial kids hair instead. I don't think white people know much about black hair. If they did, they wouldn't be asking so much about it.

Not all white hairdressers are bad with black hair. I go to an African salon but there's a white girl there who actually knows what she's going. She relaxes, cuts and styles my hair.
