Can I bring some canned food to India?

Why do the people in India pay the Dabawallas to bring their food instead of carrying it with them to work? ?

• Why doesn't the guy just take the food WITH him to work himself. instead of paying the Dabawallas to bring it a few hours later? It seems like the working man could just take his lunch with him to work in the morning and heat it up during his lunch hour. Why pay someone else to bring food from your home to your work, when you just left there yourself that morning? Please explain this to me. Thank you.

  hello there I'm from India and the reason we pay dabawallas to get our lunch to the office is because all our food isn't made in the morning ,we make fresh food in the afternoon so taking the daba with us and heating it wont serve the purpose as it won't be fresh Btw can u explain to me,where exactly are we supposed to heat our food in the office?? You can just walk in the canteen in a corporate company and start heating your food if that helps you
