Why do some black people use the n word and when white, mexican, and asian people use it, it is offensive?
-
I was brought up to never use the n word and I won't because I think it is a very offensive term. My question is why when other people use it, why is it offensive, even when they use the slang term like some African-Americans do.To me it is the same as calling a white person a cracker etc.. I just want some inforation on this issue.

Answer:
Um any race has the right to get mad if someone says a derogatory term about their race. It's common sense. That's pretty much like you being able to say rude things about your race but if someone else said it, it'd be a WTF, who the heck does this person think they are type of moment.

i wish the word would dissapear. it doesn't even make sense anymore but for some reason black people keep using it. were the only race that has used a slur as a greeting or a way to call each other and thats really sad.it such a dark history behind that word. but what i learned it came from a spanish word and some stupid hick said it wrong and started calling slaves that.

Any person who uses such a word in the company of strangers gets what they deserve. If you swear in a church, you get the stink eye. If you swear on a bus, you get the stink eye. if you swear on the air, you get fined. If you call someone by their family given nickname and you don't know them, you get the stink eye. However, If you have earned someone's trust, you can pretty ,much get away with the above mentioned with a slap on the wrist - if that (comedians get away with nearly everything offensive that's said aloud because they've earned the trust of their viewers as a person who truly means no harm). It's a social thing, trust, and it is not easily earned. If you share in adversity or can demonstrate similar experiences to the satisfaction of the others, you have earned that trust. Sort of like brothers in arms, you can't understand unless you've been in combat or combat-like conditions. Not disagreeing with you, there are words that just shouldn't be used.

This is a pretty complex issue. Some people openly contradict themselves in using the N word, and then getting angry when someone of another color uses it in the same manner with no malicious intent. Others don't use it at all and find it insulting when others use it, this to me is justified. Others still are okay with non-black people using the N word as long as it's not used in a malicious or condescending manner.

When the teens in my school say it I laugh because they don't know how much they're offending one another. And I'M black so that says something
